University of Oregon Foundation hires new President & CEO

Eugene, OR, May 13, 2009 - The University of Oregon Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of its new President/CEO, Paul Weinhold, effective July 1, 2009. Weinhold comes to the Foundation from Wells Fargo Insurance Services. where he has been Managing Director since fall 2006. Prior to that Weinhold served in various capacities at Willis Of Oregon, Inc., starting in 1986, and culminating in his appointment as President/CEO in 2000.

He is a University of Oregon graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Weinhold received recognition in 1983 as an Honorable Mention All-American in golf. He was also honored with the Leo Harris Award in 2007. The award is given annually to an alumnus letterman who has been out of college 20 years and has demonstrated continued service and leadership to the University.

Weinhold has been actively engaged with numerous not-for-profit boards in Eugene over the years. These include Peacehealth Foundation, Kidsports Foundation, Oregon Trail Council, Urology Foundation, and the Children’s Miracle Network. He is married and has three children.

He succeeds Jay Namyet, the Foundation’s Chief Investment Officer, who has served as its interim President/CEO for the past year.
